Investigating the role of a group of small chemotactic cytokines

Over the last 14 years Nathan Karin and his developed novel technologies to investigate the role of chemokines in inflammatory autoimmunity and cancer. Recently the lab identified three chemokines that direct the biological functions of regulatory T cells. The lab is very interested in exploring the mechanistic basis of their function, at the signal transduction basis, and in exploring the therapeutic potential of these findings in models of MS, IBD and type I diabetes.
